| The
Indian Language Division exists to serve the Indian Pastors and
Churches in the Assemblies of God of Malaysia. The Indian Language
Division Supervisor who is elected every two years once in the Annual
General Meeting of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia is responsible
to supervise co-ordinate, exhort, and encourage the works under
the Indian Language Division. He holds ministers' fellowship in
his division as deemed necessary. Such fellowship is designed to
provide opportunity for interaction between ministers and to lay
a basis for united effort in the work of the gospel in division.
He is to act as advisor to churches without pastors. He also works
in full co-operation with the General Superintendent of the Assemblies
of God of Malaysia.
The
present structure in the Assemblies of God allows the Indian Language
churches or pastors to be under the care of the geographical Division
or Districts, Home Missions (non-sovereign churches) and also under
the Indian Language Division. This causes the districts, divisions
or department to work together to serve the churches or pastors
and not function independently by themselves.
Through
the assistance of the Publication Department the Indian Language
Division is also able to release the AG Voice in Tamil biannually.
The
Indian Language Division Supervisor appoints the Leaders for the
division with the endorsement received from the Executive Committee
of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia for a two-year term. The present
leadership of the Indian Language Division is made of a National
Committee that includes the Supervisor, the Secretary, the Treasurer,
the Northern Assisting Supervisor, the Central Assisting Supervisor
and the Southern Assisting Supervisor.
There
are National events like Believers Camp, Prayer Rally and Retreat
led by the Tamil Pastors.
The
Division has also leaders appointed to take charge for the ministries
that are related to Women, Counseling, Youth, Children, Creative
Arts, Games, Evangelism, Missions and Welfare.
Certain
States do have appointed Coordinators to lead the AG Pastors Fellowship
in their locality. There are so many committed pastors in the Indian
Language Division who serves faithfully in the sub-committee.
Indian
Language Division pastors and leaders are on the move for changes
and growth for the glory of God in the new millennium.
